Camp Dewolfe is a camping and retreat destination of great natural beauty located on the North Shore of Long Island in the town of Wading River. The camp has 20 acres of lush
woodlands bordering on Long Island Sound.
Camp DeWolfe offers both a Summer Camping Program for youth and a welcoming place for Year-Round Retreats & Meetings. Campers come from across Long Island. And church groups, schools, organizations, even families, have scheduled retreats & meetings at the camp.
Since 1947, Camp DeWolfe has been a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island and is fully accredited by the American Camp Association, assuring compliance with health, safety and program quality standards. The camp was founded by Bishop James P. DeWolfe as "a summer community of Christian living," and is now open and busy 12 months of the year.
Camp DeWolfe welcomes people of all faiths and cultural backgrounds as staff, campers and meeting attendees.
Summer Camping
Camp DeWolfe summer camping provides a place for young people to discover the fullness of God's love in Christ and to experience the beauty and wonders of God's creation. Camping is an opportunity to be part of a community that encourages spiritual growth and the understanding of others.
Summer camping includes a variety of programs, such as a traditional children's day and
overnight camp for children ages 7-13, "Servants for God" for ages 14-15, and “Counselors in Training” programs for ages 16-17.
Campers live in comfortable cabins, housing up to 10 campers and a minimum of two staff members. The facility features a new challenge course with 30' climbing wall, beautiful St. Luke's Chapel with a stunning view or the Sound, a beach trail leading to private shoreline, lighted swimming pool, and newly refurbished Canon Davis Dining Hall.
Retreats & Meetings
From mid-August through June, Camp DeWolfe welcomes a wide variety of groups and individuals, offering modest and comfortable accommodations, meeting room facilities, food service, and St. Luke's Chapel with its magnificient view of the Sound, and other opportunities for reflection, rest and recreation.
